Just by looking at this wine in the glass with its dark purple (almost black) appearance, you know you’re in for something big and bold. The nose supports this thought as the aromas of dark fruits such as blackberry and blueberry immediately jump out along with secondary notes of earth and mocha. VinesFall2The Natural Wine Movement is a loosely, informally connected group of like-minded ideologues who believe that winemaking from the bottom up must be as natural as possible. There is no precise definition of what a natural wine is or is not, but if you read enough books and articles on the subject you will get the gist of it. There is a boatload of fruit (think blackberry and boysenberry) but it is balanced by enough structure to keep everything in bounds. Very Cabernet like. Delicious.

Dark red with a little fade at the rim. Big nose of cherries, cranberries and earth. Medium to full body with red fruit flavours backed up with spices and earthiness. A terrific Pinot with seemingly many years to go.
