Welcome to our very first VIDEO AdVINEture! Come with us as we explore El Dorado County in Northern California. We visited wineries that included a small hands-on winery with just the winemakers as employees, an urban winery, and a larger production winery that has been in the family for over a hundred years. Join us on our very first VIDEO AdVINEture and let us know what you think!

Cheers!

Santa Barbara California2007 Brewer-Clifton Mount Carmel Pinot Noir

Dark red in colour, the nose reveals lots of red fruits and baking spices. Medium in body with a nice smooth mouthfeel, the secondary notes of earth and herbs do a great job balancing out the fruit. This is a big, new world Pinot that isn’t overpowering because it so well structured. At 11 years old, it’s drinking beautifully now and likely won’t get better with more time. If you have some put away, drink it, you won’t be disappointed!

Sonoma Pinot Noir2004 Hanzell Pinot Noir

Medium red in colour showing some age on the rim. Cherry, plum and earth on the nose with a hint of pepper. Secondary notes revealed more dark fruit and leather. A very complex and elegant wine with a smooth mouthfeel that was definitely more Burgundian in style. We weren’t sure if it would be anywhere near its peak after 13 years and were wonderfully surprised. While it was showing no signs of breaking down, it’s drinking beautifully now so wouldn’t wait if we had another in the cellar. Excellent
